I have lived in this city a long time I've seen a lot happen here but nothing like I've seen the last 5-7 years. This city has grown by leaps and bounds especially the redevelopment of Downtown. There is so much happening in this city and while we have our problems(crime), we are still becoming one of the fastest rising cities in the south and probably the next southern mecca.
Here's a list of accomplishments:
1) Building the best minor league ball park in the country, AutoZone Park
2) Financing one of the most aggressive downtown renaissance in the country.
3) Landing a NBA Team and building the fedex forum.
4)Landing 2 more fortune 500 companies IP, ServiceMaster.
5) Developing the best bioworks medical complex in the country creating 5,000-6,000 jobs
These are just some of the many things that have are happen, stay tuned for more.

Memphis is just so backwards. The city has not developed or improved anywhere near as much as Nashville which is kicking us in the butt in terms of new development, corporate relocations, skyscrapers, etc etc. I think it is the bad reputation Memphis has everywhere , especially the crime and corruption that really hold us back. Just go up to Nashville and take a look at all the development going on, then come back here. Sorry to say, but we don't have any momentum now, and don't expect it to come back again anytime soon
